Test summary:

review 2018 Indiancupid.com:

IndianCupid.com is one of the many niche dating sites that are operated by Cupid Media (with around 30 million singles in total), founded in 2000. When it comes to finding a specific kind of partner, it is often best to take a look at niche sites like IndianCupid. The site is aimed at Indians, those of Indian heritage and individuals who are interested in finding an Indian partner.

Membership numbers do tend to be quite sparse at around 900 or so, though this often depends on the settings that you use in the search function. The site is mostly aimed at ‘NRIs’, or non-resident Indians. It is therefore less formal and less traditional than the bigger Indian dating sites like Shaadi.com.

Experience at IndianCupid

IndianCupid is relatively simple to use and easy to navigate. Sending a message is as simple as clicking on the ‘message’ icon on a user’s profile. A good thing about this dating site is that a lot of the profiles seem to have pictures on them, and there are a lot of active members. You will find a couple of downsides, however.

Finding someone in your local area may or may not be possible depending on where you live. There are a handful who actually live in India, but many of them seem to be pretty spread out. It is more likely that residents of geographically smaller countries such as the United Kingdom, or those living in large cities such as New York, will have an advantage here. Of course, this can also remain to be seen and will be up to your own personal experience as well.

Features at IndianCupid Australia

Like a lot of Cupid Media’s niche dating sites, IndianCupid Australia has many of the same features. These include a variety of different search options, the ability to send emails to other members and a live chat function. All of these are somewhat standard, though incredibly vital aspects of any dating site.

If you find someone you like talking to, you can also add them as a favourite. Should they displease or harass you, you can simply block them. Which is nice, because not every dating site out there offers this feature!

Prices and Upgrades at IndianCupid.com

It can be handy to use a free account in order to take a look around and see what's going on. For the full experience, however, it is a good idea to get one of the upgraded accounts. There are two types you can get: the Gold upgrade or the Platinum upgrade. Gold has most of the useful features, but extra features are added if you decide to go for the Platinum upgrade, which is also a bit more expensive.

Indiancupid.com - Costs:

  • Sign up and search the website for free, as well as fill out your profile.
  • You can also get Gold membership at $11.66/month
