Test summary:

review 2018 Matchmaker.com:

Matchmaker.com is something of a relic from the early days of online dating. It became a full matchmaking site in 1998 and at the moment has about 500 users online daily. These numbers do seem to be climbing, however.

While the number of singles on the site is smaller in Australia, it is aimed at those looking for a long term relationship. For those who prefer quality over quantity... Matchmaker could be worth something.

Sign Up with Matchmaker.com

Signing up to Matchmaker.com is easy. You put in your area code and then write a profile. It isn't even necessary to upload to a profile photo - you can do this later. The details you write on your profile don't necessarily have to be in-depth though it is of course a good idea to give others a solid picture of who you are.

Users can put in traits and characteristics of their desired partner as well. However, try not to be too specific or picky!

Matchmaker Features

The features on Matchmaker aren't really anything special, but they do end up getting the job done!

  • Send and receive messages.
  • Use the "online checker" to see how many people are online at any given time.
  • Even choose a language to use the site in: Spanish, Portuguese and English.
  • There is a handy instant messaging chat feature.

We all know how difficult it can be to find something to talk about, or start a conversation (especially with a stranger). This is why there is a show interest button that notifies other singles you're into them!

The Matchmaker Gold Account

Costs on Matchmaker incur if you decide to go for the Gold Account. The usual recommendation would be to go for a three month Gold Account membership because this is how long it will take to see what the service is like. While using it, however, we would like you to keep on thing in mind: there may be fewer singles, but there is a much higher calibre of person on this site!

Matchmaker.com - Costs:

  • You can create a profile, search and receive matches by email for free.
  • The full membership starts from US$29.95/month.
